Residential Services
Residential Services currently offers the following programs:
- Emergency Shelter Care
- Residential Care
- Diagnostic Services
- Community Residential Rehabilitation (CRR) Group Care
The Residential Services Unit has a capacity to provide care for up
to 24 youths between the ages of 12 and 18 years old. Residential
Services are provided in a newly constructed building that offers
individual bedrooms, a large recreational area, a fitness center, and
plenty of acreage for outdoor recreation.
Emergency Shelter Care/Residential Care
The Children’s Aid Home provides temporary emergency shelter and
residential treatment. The Children’s Aid Home Programs are designed
to provide structure and guidance while providing a consistent and
secure environment in which each child can make changes in attitude and
behavior. In addition to group and individualized therapy
programs, residents also participate in home activities and
responsibilities. The Children’s Aid Home provides 24 hour
supervision.
Diagnostic Services
Diagnostic services includes individual, educational, family,
psychiatric, psychological, medical, sexual, and drug and slcohol
assessments. At the completion of the diagnostic evaluation, the
treatment team will submit a written report with recommendations for
interventions and treatment. This program serves children 12– 18 years
of age.
C.R.R. Group Care Program
The Community Residential Rehabilitation (C.R.R.) Group Home Program
for children 12-18 years of age. This program is designed to assist
youth with a primary mental health diagnosis to live and function in a
group environment and eventually in the community through therapeutic
intervention and psycho-social rehabilitation. This program serves as an
alternative to institutional care for children with special needs and
works to enhance their problem solving, decision making, personal care,
relationships, educational, and social skills. Youth placed in this
program are referred by a Mental Health/Mental Retardation Program and
Children and Youth Services or Juvenile Probation Agency.
Residential Programs are licensed by the Pennsylvania Department of
Public Welfare Office of Children, Youth, and Family and Office of
Mental Health.
